NCAA Basketball Betting Lines

03/11/2010 - Irvine, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The University of California-Irvine announced on Thursday that head men's basketball coach Pat Douglass will not return next season.

Douglass, who had been at the helm of the Anteaters for the last 13 seasons, ended his run with the program with an overall mark of 197-191.

"This decision is in the best interest of the university," said athletic director Mike Izzi. "It allows us to move the men's basketball program in a new direction with the goal of annually being in the upper tier of the Big West Conference."

This season, the Anteaters finished with an overall record of 14-18 and were 6-10 in the Big West. Cal Poly defeated Irvine in the first round of the conference tournament on Wednesday.

"A nationwide search will begin immediately to hire the new head coach," Izzi said. "We appreciate the contributions that Pat has made and wish him well in his future endeavors."
